Took some pics of my wife last night and for some reason this one catches my eye more than the other ones I took. I think pink is her color.

I like all the pink scheme and havin her eyes stand out, it works for me. My main complaint is the harsh shadow on her right. You may be able to tone it down a bit in photoshop but it may not be easy. I had some trouble earlier today getting rid of much smaller shadows.

I like the shot too and I agree the shadow is too harsh.

Joe Cocker would say: "You can leave the hat on..."
A lovely girl, absolutely irresistible in pink.
You seem to know what to go for (photographically also) -you are juxtaposing pink with deep blue, so the "harsh" shadow goes well with the style. This is not an "American Mainline" -type of a shot, rather makes me think latino.
Get the Photoshop, fast!
"Image editing OK" you said. I think she deserves still better than I was able to do.

You can avoid that shadow by moving her further from the background when you are shooting. Also try bouncing the flash off of the ceiling. For the love of all that is holy man, get some kind of photo editing program! :-)
I do like this shot best as wel.

Nice shot of a beautiful wife.. I like what you did Bruce but the face looks too touched up, not natural- besides that great edit.

I really like this shot and I see why it catches your eye...I would say though that you might want to put something over the flash to diffuse the light...maybe a piece of seethru white cloth...let us know how it works out...

If you want to try an open source image editing program, check here:

I played with it a little. Not as fully functional as Photoshop but it's free and will give you a sense for you'll be doing once you do get Photoshop.
Cheers
Lovely roomie you got there, BTW :) :)

Nice shot.
She has great eyes.
You might move her a bit farther away from the background.

What do you think of this?
Edit to add: Changes made include - added a layer in overlay mode to pump up the saturation a bit. This also makes bright things brighter and dark things darker so I used a layer mask to control what areas were affected. Added another layer to blur the background a bit (she was blurred a little too, but not very much, I don't like the "plastic look" that some people get out of Neat Image). Used a bit of dodge and burn to change the highlights a bit. (can you tell where?!?) And finally sharpened.

I'd get a good flash unit before spending a lot of money on software. It's easier to make a good picture than fix a bad one.
You have a very photogenic model and I think you did great with that shot, considering the equipment.
Thanks for sharing!
