I've been recording videos on my A70 and found that the supplied software to tweak them is very limiting.

Sure it adds them together with transitions, but i wanted to play them backwards, slow the framerate of some and pause in others.

What video software does everyone recomend that can achieve these effects?

If you are on a budget, look into ULEAD's VideoStudio 7. The only feature you seek that I'm not sure about is reversing the video. There are better packages, but they are into the multiple hundreds of dollars, and VS7 is under a hundred bucks. I've been making training videos with it, and it does its job.

Yes, I concur with Rick. Ulead's products are very good (when they're working correctly) and you get a big bang for the money. Just be aware, however, that their tech support is horrendous. You may end up pulling all your hair out by the roots if you ever encounter a problem with the software unless you happen to be tech savvy and even then you're going to go through a lot of frustrations trying to figure out what the heck the problem is by yourself. Or at least that's what my experience has been with Ulead's tech support.
