All,
If anyone has this lens or any of the L class of this zoom doesn't have to be IS, can you post a photo. I am wondering just how clear it is. I saw sigler's post for the 28-135 and those are really good. I have also seen RFMSports's post of the 100-400L glass, I haven't seen any posts with this lens.
Thanks,
NiL,
oliver

I am sorry but I do not have any pictures right now, but I will post one for you later. I just bought a 1Ds with a EF 70-200 IS 2.8L and am very impressed. I was just taking pictures of my wife's trinckets in the living room under incandescent light, at 200mm and 1/30s and could not believe how clear the pictures are. I also have a 28-135 IS and it does not compare.

oliver,
I am sure they do not compare. But the reviews on the 70-200 are really good, everyone is raving about this $1700 USD lens.
Thanks for responding, I guess not a lot have this lens here. Do you have the 100-400 too? I have seens some great shots with that, it takes great photos too.
Thanks...

I am fortunate enough to own several L series lenses and the 70-200 F2.8 L IS to me seems to be the sharpest of the lot. It is rare that I have to use an unsharpen mask or anything on them in photoshop.
The following where taken using a 70-200 F2.8 on a D60 body. Please note that they are only low res images taken from my website so the quality is not the best but I think even in these files that are 35-45k in size you can see the quality of the lens.

It really is a superb piece of glass, those low res images do not really do it justice but they are all I have access to at the moment.

Here are two shots I just took in my garden. I have not corrected colors or anything, but the pictures demonstrate how sharp of an image can be obtained with the lens extended to 200mm and with low shutter speed. Both were taken on the EOS 1Ds with the lens at 200 mm and at 1/20s while being hand held.

Hi Nilo,
i am working most of the time with the 70 - 200,
only problem i haye the small rings for the stabilizer and Auto/Manual focus.
In action i forget to see if the are in the right direktion...
But the quality of the fotos are great..
Also with the 100-400..
A sample on my site:http://www.knmultimedia.com/news.htm
That photo from the The Unai Performance Group, is taken with the 70-200, the left part is unsharpened the right part sharpened, the hole picture verry compressed.
But the real quality on 20/30 photos are great..
I enjoyed your fotos from Chinatown - thats real life and Designer/Photographers World. Great shots.

WOW!! Thanks guys, I think I can make a decision. I don't see the need for the 70-200 & 100-400 lens. I will just go with the 100-400L lens only. I just saved $1700 USD.

Hi Burningarrow, thanks for fredmiranda - a great site.
Yes Nil, save and start with the 100-400.
Then sale a lot of Photos and by a 70-200 - is really one from the best and you never will mist it.
regards from Tenerife
