Can someone help?

I've got a Canon Ixus V (S100 in the US ??). When I try and view the movies with Windows Media player it only plays the audio. Apples Quicktime works but very slowly. Somebody mentioned I need a codec for Windows Media player.
I've also tried numerous avi to mpeg converters but they all say it's an unsupported format.
Used to be alot easier on my Sony cybershot as it recorded mpegs.
Any help much appreciated.

You're missing the correct codec ("COder-DECoder") for playing motion JPEG avi files.

I can't remember where I obtained it, so I'll post the zip file on my website here (http://www.shaunyc.org/mcjpg30.zip).

If you unzip it there's a readme text file containing instructions. It must have been quite easy to install as I have no recollection of any difficulties!

The codec allows me to play the files using either RealPlayer or Windows Media Player.
