I'm relatively new at this stuff but am having the time of my life. I'm convinced that the way to go is to shoot everything in RAW and then go from there. The process that I follow is to shoot in RAW and convert to 8bit TIFF and then for the ones I want to post I save as a JPG.
In following this process how do I get the all the Exif data to hang in there. When I look at some of the photos that I have posted it just says that it was taken with a Canon 10d
