I guess you always think about the critters where you live and how to help them - you kind of forget that there are animals all over the world that need help. Great shot.

Thanks JeffreyO, much appreciated. I'm pleased to say the focus was accurate - here's a crop of her head: the nose is perfectly sharp. Shutter speed was 1/30s.

Another thing is of all the cats we have the one with this coloring is the most difficult to photograph, especially indoors. I'd love to get some shots of her outside in the daylight but she's an old cat now and doesn't like to go out.

I have only one and would like a second, but my one is such a great guy and does everything so well for me I would hate to mess that up!!

He came in close to feral and now adores us all, even my 9 year old who was SO patient with him for an entire YEAR that it took before he warmed to him. Now they are best buds.

My cat also uses the toilet and I don't want to bring in a new one with a litter pan and deal with mine reverting or the new one not taking to the toilet...

but I still want another...

Ha! Kewl .. I tried training one of mine once .. no go .. guess it's a matter of knowing what to do .. or not.
Crazy question but .. does he flush too? ;)

In terms of another one .. yeah, that could spoil an otherwise wonderful thing.
I won't even make the suggestion. I can say that my Ally loves being the only one.
Besides, she'd just get into more trouble with another one.

Skrim17

He does not, but he will meow us in to do it for him!! I am looking into an auto flusher tho as when we go away he needs to have a clean place to go and he's not much for staying with other people.

Seriously .. that's a kewl cat fer sure .. I'm leaning towards not gettin another for you .. sounds like he likes it just the way it is ..

I tried with ours, convinced she was lonely I decided she 'needed' a playmate....... As soon as the 'playmate' came into our house she tried to kill it and has done every day nearly for the last 10 years....... Moral of the story, Katie loves only Katie like most cats from a 'single' household

Need a cat? I have just the cat for you. A tiny little Siamese like cat that has been declawed on all fours. She showed up at our house about 18 months ago and we figured that she was about one day from starving to death and could barely walk. We searched and never located an owner. We nursed her back to health and she is a very mild mannered sweet cat, but is one cat too many for us, especially since one of ours wants to tear into her. Without claws, they do not have much in the way of defense.

Well that is the answer isn't, we want another.....! I had 4 of them, why?? Just because I LOVE them, if I could I would have more and I even prefer a big cat LOL (tiger, lion.....). But now I only have two left, the other two went to the rainbow, and I know I'm not making them happy by taking in another, so I will love these two and not take new onces in......which is hard for me! As they are so cute.

Wow I would love my cats to be toilet trained.........well done!!!!!! Sandra

Poor little declawed Siamese! It is illegal here in Oz.

And Nietzsche is just beautiful.

Here is a montage of my newest cat (#6) a Cornish rex called Master Yoda (aka the Curly Cowboy!). I drove a round trip of 5 days and 2,000+ km to collect him, but obviously I could have got them to send him parcel post!

It is interesting that cats have dogs for pets, but not the other way around.

My dog and one of my cats are so inseparable. They're always playing and relaxing with each other. I've never been able to figure out if the dog is the cat's pet or the other way around...

Nothing fancy but I thought this was a decent picture. I like the lens a lot and think it's a solid bargain for the price.

I'm using a 580EX II, but it's the first day I got both the flash and lens so I was just playing around!

No PP or sharpening. But I think Adobe lightroom did "auto correct" or something ... anyone know how to turn that off?

His name is Squishington aka Squishy :)

My brother had a cat nicknamed Squishy. Her name was actually Jezebel. Early one morning she decided to take a nap under the hood of a neighbor's car. When the neighbor tried to start the car to drive to work, she got squished. She survived, but the car needed some work after that morning... From then on, Jezebel was known as Squishy.
