Hey everybody, a little update on my man Stapper. He is still not doing so well. Been to the Vet last Thursday and he got some shots. He felt a bit better, but today (Sunday) he wasn't feeling good at all. So to the Vet again. He had fluid behind his lungs. They drained it out and will have it tested what it is..... Hopefully we will know by the end of next week....

Sorry to hear this Sandra, we're all pulling for Strapper!

Stapper is not doing so well. We have to get the results from this fluid that they drained Sunday. It's taking min. 5 days....so hopefully Friday. Maybe he can be helped, but it doesn't look good. But for those who think I'm mean...he has no pain...pain killers, but the Vet and I don't wanna put him down before we get the results....

Sandra,
Fluid from the lung area is not good and hopefully not this.
Feline Infectious Peritonitis
In a basic sense, pneumonia in cats. I've seen a couple of cats with this over some 3 years ~100-200 cats/kittens.
Good luck with Stapper

Sandra,
If it was FIP you did him a big favor. It isn't easy doing this and I have done it a few times with my cats. They were all in pain and nothing could be done at all to save them. As you can tell, no one is telling you that you made the wrong decision. You were always around for him which probably made him happier.

Sandra going over stapper's story, I had tears more than once and share your sorrow.

Life as we know it is doom with demise, the moment a fertilization occurs. And its always TOO SHORT.
Non the less any form of life is sweet for itself and has a purpose.
Two characteristics that are often anticipated with a proper death are Dignity and Painfree.
You surely has done your part at best to achieve it and don't look back unless to see the most happy moments you had with Stapper.

Don't try to see him in any other cat as he is in a very better place and then you don't let a new kitty to have shown you his or her best self. Early last year, my cat-daughter Everst, brought 4 trouble maker that are sweeter than sugar, into our life. If you happened to be close to LA come and pick up one from me, that is if you don't have another trouble maker, already.

As cat lover we all will go through your steps one day or another but this should not stop any one to show his or her love to these furry creature that truly bring unconditional love into our daily life.

Be patient and strong. There are so many unfortunate cats out there needing kind people like you.

Nicely said Mu.

A good friend of mine adopted 2 kittens over the last 5 months and one of them came up FIV+, she lost him yesterday as well, but he had a wonderful short life with great skin parents and a big golden retriever best buddy and another kitten to play with.

We do what we can and because we love them so we end their suffering in a humane and caring way.I thought I would never get another cat after my beloved Puck passed at 18, but within 2 months I had a new kitten because I just couldn't live without a cat in my life!! And then I got another, lol!!

I had a brother and sister foster cats which would furiously paw next to the water dish like they were burying something in the "box" before drinking.
They both were really dumb too. Beautiful but very dumb.
The others were black and a tortoiseshell both as fluffy.
He was very young in this reposted pic.

and to think that a very cute, very friendly, fluffy orange tabby cannot get adopted? He is ~ 8 months old and usually orange tabbies don't last at all.
As for pretty eyes, I just had a brown/grey tabby who's eyes looked greenish blue, depending on the light.

My Tupper is totally enthralled with the water bowl. I've been told that's a common trait of Main Coons. He loves to experiment with various items of mine, to see how long they'll survive underwater. When he was still a kitten, one day I bought a Casio Pathfinder watch. It cost me somewhere around $250 or $300. I hadn't even been back home an hour when I happened to walk past the cats' water bowl and saw my brand new watch in there. Fortunately for Tupper, the watch proved to be as water resistant as Casio claimed it was...

I got my cats a fountain water bowl and they ADORE it and play with the water all the time. One of my guys got some nasty chin acne and I had heard moving water in a ceramic or stainless bowl was better for them. They too dig around it before they drink sometimes, weird!!

Keep the water fresh and wash the fountain. You other cat can get the zits from the other one. Plastic is supposed to be the worst for it but it does go away. My wife likes to pick the cats zits and eventually it stops spreading. Give them a scratch every day or two and knock them off, if you let it go too long then the fur starts to come out.

Usually, this is the response that I got from them. ( you can see it on the chin.)

Unfortunately mine got it bad with large bleeding sores and the whole 9, was on antibiotics both orally and cream. It has gotten a lot better but it is still there and he has hair loss on his chin because of it. I do clean the fountain every other day. They are thinking my guys might be an autoimmune issue.

I will wait a year and then maybe I can buy one....(if I keep my job that is) the classic does a great job until than...;)

the extra toe is very convenient - polydactyl cats are often found playing with their master's PS3 or Xbox360 while their masters are away or asleep because they are so adept at handling the game controllers.
