I love cats, and I usually follow mine around the house trying to use them as my test subjects for new photography adventures :p

Here's one of my Mom's cat Gus that I took over Thanksgiving Break:

Cute cat! We recently has a small young solid black cat show up that looks a lot like Gus, in facial expression. She was very cute so we decided to take her in -- not quite soon enough, however. She is now very round with kitten and expecting any day now. Stake your claim on a free kitten while supplies last. Limited time offer.

I may have some new kitten pictures to post in the near future.

Bob

Beware of the "shoulder cat", Bob. Mr. Squeak (see my avatar cat) thinks that the only way that he can travel around is while hanging on my shoulder (with claws dug in as he deems necessary). Trouble is, he weighs around 16 pounds.

Here is one of Baxter (the Bengal).... face only. I will try to post some others that show his spots more. I also have to figure out how to better show the "glitter" in his fur. In certain types of lighting, there is definitely a glitter affect, caused by some strands of his fur being hollow and reflecting light.

in jewellery shops, the diamonds always look better than out on the street in daylight because of the many tiny white downlights positioned above the counters

maybe multiple lights on the cat will better show his fur?

:lol::lol: now that is a good reminder for anyone that not only should the seat be left in the respectfull position (please do not flame me guys & gals - you know what I am saying ~ not refered to as the throne for nothing ;) ) but if you have animals do put the lid down :cool:

Yep this why we keep ours down. That way he doesn't go spelunking in the toilet. We keep our upstairs bathroom closed only because he likes to do some covert ops in the middle of the night and knock stuff of the counter.

This is Roxy, one of 3 cats that own me. She is the most photogenic, and loves the attention of being photographed.

I cannot take full credit for the creative element of this picture. Yes, I took it with my 40D. Yes, I did the PP and cropping. However, APG Angus did the very same thing with an earlier Roxy pic taken with a different camera, so I must give credit were credit is due.

Note: She's about 15 years old, and these are some of the first good pictures. Even my 70-200 HSM focus noise is loud enough to scare her off. (VERYYYY skittish). But my new 18-50/2.8 Macro is apparently quiet enough not to scare her off.

Unfortunately this was the only one I could get of all three. Two are a little out of focus but they wouldn't stop moving. I had their food dishes inside for their nightly soft food :D . They're about 8 months old and all from the same litter. Pretty funny to watch them interact.

Here's mine. I'll have to do in seperate posts. I have 3 cats. This first one is Zippy. He's my favorite and the most fun to take pictures of.

The first picture he his playing with his dog friend next door. The second, he's waiting for those darn squirrels. He's sure he will catch one some day.

Zippy, our male Siamese even helped out. He sort of became her surrogate mother. Weird I thought for a male cat. They are best of friends.

I'm not a huge fan of cats *yes i'll leave in a minute* But that is one cute cat!

at 2 weeks old a long haired kitten will barely have its eyes open and will still be mostly confined to the litter bed... i would guess closer to 4 weeks old in that first shot - still too young to be weaned but mobile

I love this thread, If I wasnt married I would deffinalty be a crazy cat lady...Instead I have a husband, one cat and I volunteer at a cat shelter once a week, to get my 'fix' of cats :)

Peaches & Herb both two kittens rescued from a foul-smelling home that had 90 cats and 1 dog in it! The house was closed by the SPCA and we fostered these little guys. They never left our house and we adopted them right away!

these are nicely lit and well composed, and you have 'caught' the cats well. only thing is the bottom one has a little blur, the eyes are oof

Hi all, couldn't resist posting up a few photo's of my new kitten. She found her new home after being rescued this Christmas and has very much settled in. Ash Kitty our existing big fat kitty has very much taken to her, which were happy about.
