I just did the looking and made a bunch of calls. One place wanted to charge me for the charger, cables, and battery. Another told me the camera would only have a 30 day parts only warranty, and of course the camera with the warranty was $1699.
One of those had a price of $1319. As you know the advertised price is not always the realistic price.
All the "weenie" stores were yahoo stores just in case your search takes you to one of them.
I did find a place where my bill was less than $1400, but I won't tell you who it is until they actually deliver. They did say it was in stock when I called, and I got multiple emails confirming the order.
Happy shopping!

I paid $1350 at my local camera store, but I'm a good customer and my wife, The Bargainer, was there too. And we bought her a Nikon D100 at the same time (large amounts of cash will keep peace in any family).
The store owner knows what he is about, too. I was back in two days buying the 20-35 USM zoom because my wide cheapie Sigma didn't work, and in another week I picked up his demonstrator 50mm 2.5 macro (for $200). I'm eyeing the 75-300 USM IS lens as we speak. Even though it isn't an L, it's gotta be better than my 100-400 Phoenix, and I've gotten usable images from that! The 10D makes cheap lenses look good by only using the middle of them.

Guys,. when you are ready spend $1,400.00 on a camera I STRONGLY advise that you spend the extra $100.00 to get it from a reputable dealer.
That said,. No one should spend more than $1,499.00 on this camera. Anyone charging more than this is a shady character and balatantly trying to rip you off.
All the retail stores,. Best Buy, CompUSA,. Ritz etc. Sell this for $1,499.00 also.
Beware any bargains on these Cameras. Also be sure you are buying the "KIT"
(including battery charger, neck strap,. etc.)
If the Body is being sold seperately there is a VERY strong chance that it is grey market.

You are right CyberDyneSys.
If you search in Yahoo, it will take you to all the Yahoo store people. They put like $1249 for a 10 D, but you have to be careful. This price does not cover battery, charger..., it is just the body. Don't trust these people.
Gateway.com have it for 1349 couple days ago. Now they ran out of this.

Got my 10D for $1,370 + $20shipping from CDW. Full kit and warrenty included. $1370 is CDW's corporate price, you have to ask for it. I used my empoyer's account and asked that they bill my credit card. They were more then happy to do it.
