It look like most of the big host sites remove the exif data from pictures uploaded to the gallery. The end result is when I link back to a Picture like this one:

The photo has no exif data....that means anyone using Opanda Pluging can't see how the shot was taken. Looking at pictures taken by Gmen show that he uses a commerical site to insert his pictures and the exif data is there. This is really valuable to a newbie sports shooter like me, because it shows how the shot was taken. I have been told that photobucket.com might be a site that preserves the exif data.

Do any of you know if any other sites allow this? Pbase and smugmug don't.

Thanks,

Rick

Pbase.com allows exif data. I have almost 3000 images there and they all are showing the exif info when viewed on site...Are you trying to get the exif info from the links posted in the thread as opposed to the actual image?

Photobucket keeps exif data as well. If you're doing "save for web" then that's stripping your exif.

I don't have photoshop cs2, I currently use the lowly elements3. Although elements3 has the same save to web as you describe, it also has "export" (file>export) which not only allows you to export your photo as a copy to another folder, but allows you to resize them to custom sizes and to vary the quality of compression (does everything you need). The BIG difference though is in that it DOES NOT DESTROY EXIF DATA. All my photos on my weblog have been "mounted" using this method and they all have exif data (click "image info + comments" - all the data was automatically extracted from the photo by my blog program and NOT manually input as some of you apparently do.) This seems to be a far easier and straightforward method.
Hope this is of help to someone!

Pbase automatically displays the EXIF data if it is present. e.g. http://www.pbase.com/sam_blackie/image/53419504
