Thank you for these forums. I am a quadriplegic and take all my pictures with the camera mounted on the "Magic Arm" with a Canon wired remote. I don't really know much about photography, but I am reinventing myself. I run a website about wheelchair athletes, and when I was at a w/c tennis tour. I didn't see any photographers in chairs. I want to be a photographer, but the equipment I bought is over my head. I am starting at the bottom but I am committed to my goal.

Welcome, and don't be afraid to ask. The only stupid questions are the ones you don't ask , although the people who don't know how to answer them may dispute that! We all had to face the learning curve once. Some of us forget what it was like. Others of us keep growing, so we remember what it's like to be over our heads in something.

Welcome to the board. There's no better way to learn than to dive right into it. I'm a noob too as I just started a week ago.

Welcome to POTN - pls jump in and start posting photos.
I do a bit of kids soccer and find great candids in rest periods and after the whistle. The smiles, the tears, and the faces full of effort are good material and make some great photos, whatever the sport.

Indeed, welcome to the forum. It sounds as if you've taken on quite a challenge for yourself. Please let us know if there's anything we can do to help you in that pursuit. We would be very much interested in seeing some of what you're doing with your photography.
