10D file size?

Looking through the 10D's for sale on ebay i came upon an ad for a 10D body which included the following
" This is a 6.3 mp camera which actually shoots up to 8mp when used raw".

I have fairly recently bought a 10D outfit and i am sure i have not seen anywhere in the manual a claim of it being 8mp when shooting raw,have i missread what the seller is claiming or is it a load of *&^%$

The sellers claim is false.

But of course the 10D does not shoot 8MP RAW.

10D has a 6.3MP CMOS sensor.
RAW Files are 6.3 MP
(6291456 pixels @ 3072 X 2048 )

It can not be set in camera to interpolate to a larger file size.

My guess is that the discussion in Marketplace centered on debunking this silly claim.. and not much else.
