I have a newbie question here due to I am lucky to jump from 20D to 1DMIIN. So I really don't know how they are developed along the line. I need to know all brothers of 20D and all brothers for Rebel XT. Please try to understand what I am asking here. :D

Well, you're obviously not a newbie but I'll try to your answer question. The older brother of the XT (350D) would be the the Digital Rebel (the 300D) and the older sister of the 20D would be the 10D. Does that help?

Well, I don't know for myself but here's a link to the Canon museum that might help you:

Great! Thanks for the link. So the brother of 20D is 10D and sister of 350D is 300D. The D30 and D60 on their own parents? :)

Leaving out the 1D series cameras, the D30 was the first Canon DSLR (3.3 MP), followed about 18 months later by the D60 at 6 MP. The 10D followed shortly, still at 6 MP but with an improved processor and somewhat better autofocus, which was superceded by the 20D at 8 MP and with other improvements in 2004.

You know, if you go to the museum link, you'll find Canon has only been marketing DSLRs for 11 years. Their first was a 1.3 megapixel. We've come a loooooooooooong ways in a short time.

I know of someone with one of those 1.3Mp models. Those were based on a one series bodies so will last absolutally ages.
Every now and then i think of him being stuck with a near useless camera that simply wont wear out:lol:
(more seriously, they were FAR better than their 1.3Mp implies, but i still wouldn't want one;))

perhaps you could sent it in to canon, get the internals ripped out and re-fitted with upto date components?...since back then it was probably a premium i'd have thought canon wouldn't mind...
