Here's a couple of my neighborhood friends. Aren't I lucky to have such good looking models who will work for free? :D
Shot handheld with my 70-200L f/2.8 IS lens. I'm hoping to get the Bigma in the not too distant future.

I bet they don't keep you awake with parties or loud music. Nice neighbors, Joel.
Nice shots, too.

Beautiful shots Joel. The Green Heron in particular catches my eye. The white is a little hot on the top and back in the second shot and if it was mine I would crop to remove that piece of wood or whatever it is in the foreground.

Beautiful shots Joel. I like the second best, the contrast of the white feathers against the dark blue water.

Excellent. The EF 70-200 zoom (any of the three) is a "colourmaster" of lenses.

I wouldn`t mind these kind of neighbors myself Joel.
Again (as always) your expossure is spot on {especialy on the white}.
Do you do manual?

Little herons dont usually let you get that close. Great colors, exposure, sharpness, etc.

Awesome pictures! Green heron has a special spot in my heart. It was the first shorebird i captured when i first got my dSLR. Great work Joel.

Thanks very much Dimitri. I do shoot manual sometimes but I didn't on this day. I shot using aperture priority with EC dialed down 1/3 stop. I wish I did shoot manual though, because the white heron is actually over exposed a little.

Both look good to me, but the green heron is extra good.
