Any railfans in Central Maryland? I'm looking for some good spots to go shoot some choo-choo trains :) I would imagine there would be some good spots in the city near the port.

Been out to Brunswick? I can also suggest the Kensington MARC station - 1892 station on the CSX Brunswick line. Gets MARC commuter, CSX freight, and Amtrak. Clear areas near the station to set up, and trees down the way a bit. There's also a viaduct over Rock Creek Park less than a mile away.

There's a great spot near Kensington on the grounds of the National Seminary. It's near the Walter Reed annex, off Linden Lane. Better directions and lots of info here: http://saveourseminary.org/
To get to the tracks, you have to either walk from the main buildings through the valley up to the castle and villa, or drive past the main entrance and turn left down a side street across from the Walter Reed gate. It's a little confusing. This overhead map may help. http://www.operant.com/seminary/map_tour.html
By the way, the Seminary grounds are still open to the public during daylight hours, and I would highly recommend going. Amazing architecture, absolutely beautiful location. I grew up not too far away, and never knew the extent of this place until recently. I go there regularly to shoot, and always see things I've never found on previous visits.
