Hey,

Does anybody know of a good place to find out how to start a wedding photography website? or is there any ideas of how to start one yourself?

Thank you,

Jeff

bludomain (http://www.bludomain.com) seems to be a popular choice these days, but from what i heard they're a little iffy

There are a couple of ways you can go at this.

Some ISP's and hosting services have tools that will allow you to quickly assemble a somewhat canned website that will get you up and running in a couple of hours or less. You don't need to understand HTML, coding, or anything of that nature. You pick one of their templates, plug in your info and pictures - bingo... instant wedding website.

If you're more adventurous you can learn FrontPage (cheap and dirty, modest price) or the more advanced high end Dreamweaver. There are many web design packages out there. You can even download a number of demo packages for free.

One of the best source of ideas is the web itself. Surf other wedding websites and see what others are doing. This will give you a good taste of what is nicely laid out, what loads quickly, what is easy to use, logically assembled, etc. It will also give you an excellent idea of what your competitors are offering :mrgreen:

I made my own as well.

One option is to search for Free CSS Layouts and edit those! Here is a good one:

Open Web Design (http://www.openwebdesign.org/most_popular.phtml)

Hope that helps! :D

I can answer that:

<html>

<head>
<title> Wedding photography website
</title>
</head>

<body>
// insert body text here.
</body>

</html>

Couldn't resist, sorry. What kind of website do you want to do? Animated or static? Do you want galleries? Do you have any background in web design or programming?

http://www.bigfolio.com has some lovely flash (mostly) based templates that you can customize in a number of ways. They provide their own hosting as well, and offer specials periodically (check the blog for the latest). Their customer service is unmatched--no matter how minor the issue, I've had responses from them within minutes during regular service hours (and beyond).
