at some stores, when they show sample photos of printer, they have a small comment on the bottom of the photo saying that it was done in "full bleed" mode. does anyone know what that means? does it mean the highest quality settings? help?

'Bleed' is a printing term and refers to the printing of an image right up the edge of the paper, without a border.
Not all photo inkjets can do this, some can only (I believe) do it across the width of the paper and some are capable of doing a full bleed - printing without a border to the edge on all four sides of the paper.
Naturally full bleed printers tend to be a little more expensive to buy (and run in full bleed mode - as the nozzles actually print past the edges of the paper and thus waste that ink).
