Probably as well that people are required to show at least a passing interest in photograhy.
However, it is by no means pornography. I for one saw an image that I can't get out of my head. It goes back a few months and although shows a breast, is not in the least top-shelf. I keep meaning to try and find it again. It's more like love. Why that shot, why that particular girl, but it was a stunning image. I'll bet that if you met the girl, you would barely notice her, but that's the power of a great photograph.

No. Not off too far. You get better helpful criticism in People section and in Critique than in Glamour and Nude.

"Oh. It so lovely. Oh, lighting so good..." when really basic potrait light technique completely miss. Last I look there all I see is same light technique from same photographers over and over again. One miodel look like she standing in front of steel furnace but no one notice harsh light. It may be matter of taste and style but you break tradition when you know tradition.

But i do not show my nude in forum. Pointless for me. Maybe a matter of style commentation that i do not understand, like cultural thing. People try to save face, but save face not good for learn.

If I post my work I may expect commentation which show some knowledge, not words that flatter, and maybe words to describe technique. I never see any there.

To you that may be a problem with that image, how do you know thats not how Charlesu intended it to look? Where is are the rules that define whats a problem and whats not. Not everyone sees the same "problems" or may even think they are problems. For me photography is an art, open to interpretation by each individual. Most will value your critique or opinion if its given in a constructive manner.

For you to make a blanket statement, "Never there any helpful advise or true critic", about the members who post there is very closed minded opinion.

Just my two cents, if worth even that much. :p

Maybe it is a cultural difference that TongChen is having. Maybe he just doesn't know how to be discreet on his view. Maybe he just is just so good, no so excellent that he is above us all here. Whatever the reason TongChen has it is his reason to have so long as he plays by the rule. Maybe one day he'll show his color and post a few Glam&Nude for us to C&C and then maybe we will understand how great his work is and then we will know the rules he is talking about.

I hate to say it but TongChen does have some valid points! Funny, but still valid. At the risk of having most of you ridicule me, I tend to agree with him to a limit.

Funniest thing about it is when you do look at the amount that people look at the photo's in this forum, the glamour and nude hits the peak on just about every posting that involves a nude.

This is a difference here from many other forums,. the fact that merely posting an image does NOT imply a request for critique, so I can see how this could be confusing.

But it could have been fun! I got a good laugh while still understanding both sides.

Personally, I don't spend a lot of time in that section because no one ever explains what the purpose was for the photo and why they took it the way they did. What makes it art as opposed to just a nude covering certain parts. The shots are great, but what made them great?

Sure, some models you would not recognise as the shots make them look so good. But the models look so perfect and those type of models don't come by every day.

okay, I do believe that I stated that I wasn't critisizing you. hypersensitivity is exhausing no matter where your from. and for the record I may be from Boise, but i'm only second generation in this country. It always amazes me that people with so much talent, knowledge, and a love of helping others can become so closed and ignorant, and effectivily militant just because they don't agree with someone elses opinion. :(

This would be the 3 or 4th time Iv seen it happen on this scale in the last few years, the first time it destroyed a whole forum as it was a mod who went off the rails after being made an Admin. This time I think the individual is a bit better controlled by the mods here.
It is still tough haveing to deal with someone like this, especialy when in the past they were such a highly valued member.

I've been sort of foolish here so don't worry about looking like an idiot, and sorry TongChen for assuming you were a man. I do read but that line where you made that comment about my misconception just slipped past me.

The troll means that Administrators feel TongChen is a member but posts to get reactions from others. I'm not sure about the symbol. I don't know even half the story so I'll just let my open mind make closed mouth. From looking at other posts going on at the same time I think that's being pretty opened minded because it's getting to a point where banning is looking like a good next step.

It's too bad because I do like TongChen. Anyone put in this situation would normally try to remedy it as opposed to adding more fuel to the fire.

WuWei, the gas meter is a knockout. Straight solarization doesn't usually impress too many people (probably because they've never done it in a dark room -- or never had good results). That could just be excessive use of Ginger, Garlic and Oyster sauce and no good reason to critique. However, if you are referring to the comedy sing song verbals then we must encourage him/her. I found it charmingly comic! S/he clearly has well honed critical perception too and a humour only hardened by painful past encounters.

That could just be excessive use of Ginger, Garlic and Oyster sauce and no good reason to critique. However, if you are referring to the comedy sing song verbals then we must encourage him/her. I found it charmingly comic! S/he clearly has well honed critical perception too and a humour only hardened by painful past encounters.

Tong Chen is Bloo Dog in disguise - we have proof of that. He is a banned user and he knows why he was banned and agreed to it. Now it appears that he either enjoys this forum so much he has to be here under false identity (which is worth banning, by the rules) or that he _again_ needs to prove his point that Glamour & nude forum contains bad photography which is something he can not tolerate and he wants it shut. Bloo is a sad case, a nice guy who went totally haywire because of G&N forum. I wish things were different and I have offered him solutions, but he chooses this way.

All I can say is the mods are doing a great job. I know personally of the hassles involved, being an administrator and moderator for a couple gaming websites, and trying to keep the hackers at bay. :rolleyes:

Everytime I'd type in simply www.photography-on-the.net, that awful message would come up (You have been banned...etc.) How would I have gotten around that?
