Actually a rather interesting shot of what should be a boring subject. The streets in the background add an element of mystery - at least in context to the apples.

*however, I should note that the glare on the upper apple kinda melts into the glare on the street

The apples look great - very appetizing. Ugly apples make good eating! I would prefer to not see the street and just drool over the fruit with a neutral background.

Had it been feasible to arrange a vantage point that would put the green behind the subjects, instead of the street glare, that would have done so much for the picture.

A painter can put any background in his picture that he sees fit, and usually does a good job of it (in recognition of the importance).

The apples themselves are very well exposed and the branch adds a great deal to the image by adding in some interesting textures and colors.

Thanks for your comment Bob. No excuses for the glare but it had been raining moments earlier and the streets were wet. On reflection I could probably have positioned myself so that the green was behind the subject instead of the streets, but it is through posting on this great forum and seeking advice from people more knowlegeable like yourself that I am learning. Many thanks it is appreceated.
