Here are some pics of my first outing with my 10D.
I had a lot of fun and shot about 150 pics. This is more than I have ever shot in one place at one time in my life but when you have a camera that will shoot nine shots in 3 seconds it is hard not to take a lot.
Most pics were taken using my Quantaray AF 70-300 4-5.6
$199.00 lense. I shot most in sports mode as I am stepping up from a G2 into this camera and have no idea what I am doing with it. All photos are right from the camera without any editing except some cropping. I think a little photoshop level adjustments would make them look much nicer. It has a little more of a learning curve than my point and shoot cameras and I never used a film camera so my photography knowledge is VERY limited. I can only imagine what a little knowledge and a nice "L" Lense would be capable of.

Thanks. It is always fun when the Cubs win.
I cannot stop looking at your Portland photos. Do you do any post processing to your photos or is that how they come out of the camera?
They all look awesome. They really capture the feeling of being there.

I am not a big fan of baseball, but those are some great pics! That looks like fun.
Not trying to hijack your thread ... but a question about taking pictures at professional sporting events in the US:
Has anyone ever had any problems getting their cameras into the stadiums/arenas? I mean, past security?
I ask because I have never tried before and next fall, I will be taking a group of sports enthusiasts from Finland to New York for a long weekend of NHL and NFL games. I will want to take pics for the group and just wondered if I should expect trouble getting my Tamrac bag into the games.

They might ask you to open your bags but I don't know of any major sporting events prohibiting cameras. It is usually a pretty quick check with thousands making there way through
the gates all at the same time.

Thanks for the info.
I am guessing though that DV cameras are NOT allowed.

Some places will not allow bags of any kind. I actually had to leave a camera bag behind once and wear the camera around my neck. Other places dont allow SLR's without a press pass and most don't allow video. Better checK.

After shooting two NY Liberty Basketball games at Madison Square Guarden with my 10D and 70-200/2.8L, I was told by their security that picture taking was forbidden. After processing the pictures both RAW and JPEG and printing them on my Epson 2200 I can understand why. The pictures are good enough to sell outside the arena. I guess they don't want competition for their in house stores. Great camera and lenses, lousy software. I use BreezeBrowser for conversion, and CSPro for sharpening.

I guess that I had better get this checked out ahead of time: we are scheduled to see at least one NHL game in Madison Square Garden.
