Typing this with one hand and a good buzz. Yesterday I was at a landscape nursery looking for bugs to shoot with my new 100mm macro. Tripped and fell hard with only my left shoulder and 20d and monopod in right hand breaking my fall. Dislocated my shoulder but all that happened to the camera and lens is I lost my aftermarket eyecup (just realized). Dont know when I will be able to take pictures again but at least I dont have to make a insurance claim for a new camera or lens.

If your gear was also made of flesh & bone i''m sure they'd have came off worse .
Here's to a speedy recovery ;)

I'd rather break my arm than break my camera. Is that bad?

Hope you get well soon Blue. Glad to hear you don't have to send in the gear to Canon for repair. :)

You did the right thing to take the fall on your shoulder and save the gear. I would have done the same thing.

Look at it this way... IF you'd have broken the gear, the pain would have lasted longer and you can still do pacros with one hand and a tripod, but not without a camera...
Get well....

I have a personal motto I tell all my models especially for location shoots.
"Save the Model, Save the Camera, the Photographer can be repaired"
Hmmm.. time to change my sig line anyway...
May you heal fast so you can take pictures again.
