I'm looking to buy some more compact flash for my g1. I was looking at a 256Mb card, but the g1 manual states that only up to 128Mb is supported by the camera. I e-mailed Canon and they confirmed this. However, I've seen posts on this board where people talk about 256Mb cards ...... so I'm confused, is my g1 compatible with a 256Mb card ?
Thx in advance

I just got a 256M card for my G1. So far, it works fine. The number of available pictures seem to be correct. I did not use all of the 256M so I don't know. I don't recall reading anything in the manual about the limitation of 128M barrier, but Canon told you so! That's interesting.

I talked to canon about the 256 mb issue before i bought my card. When the manual/ literature was written, 128 was the largest.
A 256 mb works fine. in fact, any size, even the 512, will work fine.
check pricewatch.com to get really cheap flash cards.
256 mb flash cards are about $90!
