Pekka,

I reviewed your workflow notes again. I noticed for the first time that the gamma settings for the two sliders were highlighted - I think 0.79 and 0.31.

Is this meant to indicate that this setting should always be used, or should the sliders being adjusted to suit the curve for the particular image. If it is the latter, could you elaborate on the rules for position?

In the example, I posted on my site (http://www.rogercavanagh.com/banff/index_1.htm) I adjusted the first curve:

- blackpoint to the right to the low point of the curve just where the line becomes noticeable, then

- gamma to the right around the midpoint of the upwards curve

The second curve:

- white point to left to edge of curve
- black to right to edge of curve

Regards,

Roger

The workflow page is just an example. You curve setting strategy sounds just fine to me. On ISO 400-800 photos I usually lower high point in second dialog so that noise areas are almost "removed", and perhaps rise the mid point over the lowest histogram point if I need stronger sharpness.
