I'm about to receive a 10D and have read various reviews on different CF cards. I have very little time to change my mind . So far i have chosen a Sandisk Ultra 512 MB CF card but notice that on Dpreview.com the SimpleTech 512MB CF is quicker than Sandisk in almost all tests! When does Quality and speed come nicely together ---- what's THE CF card to get !!

I have two Viking 512's and a Viking 1 Gig and all perform well with the 10D.

I have one IBM 1GB card and one Lexar 1GB card. In my opinion the IBM downloads slightly faster. Haven't had any trouble with either card.
The IBM card came with a pcmcia adapter so that loads really quickly on my laptop. I use a Sandisk card reader on my desktop and works fine.

I have a Ridata 512MB and a Transcend 512MB.
They are both fast enough so that speed is not a big issue. The 10D has a good buffer and I don't generally have to wait for the camera. Remember, you don't wait for the camera to write the image to the card, as long as there is room in the buffer, you can take another shot.

If you look here:
http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/multi_page.asp?cid=6007
You'll see a CF database where rob tested CF cards in some camera's. The 10D is included too. My choice fell on the transcend. I can get 512 MB for about 120 euro so i think thats good value for money.

I have a Lexar 256 Card that I paid about $59 US at Wal-Mart. I seems to work ok for me. At some point I will need to get another card.
