broadway, well done! The white dress really seperates the subject from the background.

The light hitting the dress looks a bit hot to me, and perhaps should be toned down a bit. It makes her face seem dark, especially in this toned image. This is less of a problem in the full color images, so I assume it is the result of post-processing rather than your lighting setup.

That warm, intense background is a bit unconventional for childrens's portraits, isn't it? Maybe that is where I'm having difficulty - in the toned image, her face sort of blends with the bg tones. As noted there is good separation of the dress, but not of the face.

While the duotoning effect is interesting and gives the image a timeless look, my preference is for color as in this one:

P.S. I like your high key family shots (Ethridge) very much! Also, your studio lighting technique looks very good to my novice eyes.

I tend to agree with Mitch's comments. I don't find the white dress to be all that bad but the face a little dark. I definitely like the colour portrait much much better.
You may find the watermark necessary but personally I find it a huge distraction. If you are trying to protect your photo and I would assume so seeing how you placed it across the middle of the photo, you should know it is easily removed by anyone wanting the photo with photoshop experience. So, may I suggest something a little more stylish and put a © sig at the bottom.
