Opteka has a listing of Pro 1 lenses & accessories here (http://www.opteka.com/productresult.asp?modelid=73). I'm also on the lookout for such things, but I've read some posts in this forum of people using Opteka's on their cameras (other than the Pro 1) and they get vignetting.

I don't want to discourage you, but I would be interested in your findings.

Here's someone who's used an Opteka lens:

I and others have asked about the third party lenses available for the Pro1/Gx to no response.

If you decide to give it a shot I would be rather grateful to hear your thoughts.

there are several people here using raynox lenses that are very happy with them, I wouldn't rule out third-party lenses in general, but Optekas don't seem to be very highly regarded. I've never tried them

check out lensmateonline.com though i'm not sure if they have a pro1 section.

I bought a kit from them for my G5 and I get terrible vignetting from the Telephoto lens. Mine was a 3.2x Tele lens???

I love the Wide angle lens with the Macro. AND the camera bag was much better than the one I had.

If you want to have quality lenses, stick with the lenses made by reputable lens manufacturers, e.g. Canon, Olympus, Kenko (Tokina), ... and with maybe some reservations ... Tiffen and Raynox. Avoid the likes of Hama, Opteka, Digital optics, Titanium ...

Most important, on a wide angle converter, check the exit pupil of the converter, because if it is too small, you'll get vignetting. And while vignetting on a tele lens might be annoying, it totally defeats the meaning of a wide angle converter.

Best regards,
Andy

I have purchased a third party 2X lense for my Pro 1. It is 58mm, which should fit the filteradapter. Unfortunately, when I screw it in the adapter, the adapter pops out of the camera lense. Does anyone have a soultion for this?

Canon advises against mounting lenses and other "heavy" items to your Pro1 lens via the filter adapter or other means. Lens adapter LA-58DC is designed for this purpose.
