Can be used the 550EX with rechargeable
batteries (Ni-MH) ?

Can't say for sure about the 550EX, but the owner's manual for my 420EX says:

"When using size AA nickel-hydride batteries will only yield 70-80% of the flashes obtained with alkaline batteries" It also states the recycle time will be about twice as long with these vs alkalines. Also warns that the contacts aren't standard, so make sure the batteries are compatible with the flash before purchasing them.

Yes... I've used them in both the 420 and 550 with no problems at all.

I also have used these batteries. Would suggest using high capacity 2000mAH or above.

I use the Quantum Turbo 2X2 with my 550, you can clip it to your belt or hang it from a tripod. The Turbo 2X2 goves about 500 flashes from a full charge.
