I use Pbase.com, my first try, but I'm checking around to see if it's comparable to other good gallery spaces.
It appears to be popular and used by a lot of excellent photographers. Free space is limited but the registration fee is pretty cheap. It is very professional looking. Sometimes, response to editing is slow but always servicable.
I just looked at fotopic.net ....lots of free space but it's very commercial looking as it is part of a commercial enterprise (photo prints, etc). The galleries I looked at were more like 'family albums' and not serious photography presentations.
I don't think I'll do my own web site because there seems to be a concern about vulnerability to viruses, etc. Is this concern warranted?
Any comments or recommendations on quality gallery spaces?
