Just a couple from when the bombers visited Livermore...

1- Looking out the front of the B-17

2- B-24 this one is the last airworthy one left!

great pics, the "nuke glow" is kinda eerie.

Yeah well... it was pointed towards the Lawrence-Livermore Lab.

Actually it is from a quickie fix to get more dynamic range out of the original. I took the original and slid the levels all the way to the dark end, this gave me a black cockpit with some blue sky detail. I copied this to the background and layered the original exposure on top. Using the magic wand I just sleected and deleted the windows so the background shown through. So what you are seeing is the "real sky" as captured by my camera. This seems more honest than just finding a nice sky and pasting it into the background. My execution leaves some to be desired but the original wasnt so great (S100 P&S) that I planed to spend a ton of time on it either.

Have you got any more of the B-17 internals in the nose? I have a Walk Around tour book, but it doesn't properly show the flip down gunsite for the chin turret. I can see that in your image though...

Sorry only the one....

The little S100 just wasnt up to the challenge of handeling the bright daylight aginst the shady interiors....... Big reason I got the 300D

Awesome!!! I'm a scale modeller which is why I was asking. I always try to make things as detailed and realistic as possible, but it's not that easy without some sort of reference.

BTW, what was the B-17s name?

The Enola Gay of WWII fame a B-29, was restored in the late 80's into the early 90's and is on permanent display at the new Dulles Va. Udar Hazy? center an annex of the national air and space mesuem.

I visited last September, well worth it!

I also have some photos of it undergoing restoration at the A&S Silver Hill Md. restoration facility... but those are on film;)

I do not recall the name of the B-17. I will check the other pictures for it. I believe it was operated by the Collins Foundation.
