Ok, I finally have a break and I'm sending my 10D to Canon for calibration. Anyone who has sent their's in; how did you package it? Did you have to inventory what you sent, like Camera, Lense, CF Card, etc? Or do I have to worry that they will loose part or all of what I send them???
I guess I'm looking for any insite to make this as easy as I can on Canon and myself!

Before sending in my 10D I talked to a rep who gave me the correct address to send my camera to in California: I sent it in the original box, plus another box with good padding around it. They wanted no extras with the camera body, no batteries, cards or lenses. I sent a cover letter explaining the issues and detailing what I had sent. ie 1 Eos 10D body. I also sent them the lens I was using on the camera just in case the problem of focusing was with the lens and not the body.
Canon was at all times friendly and contactable and my camera was returned in great condition ten days later. At one point I received a confirmation that did not mention the lens and when I called them they said that their notes included the lens.
Hope this helps.

You can read about all the "joy" I experienced when dealing with canon here......

I sent my camera with just the body cap and camera strap as I was too lazy to take it off. I wrapped the camera in a large sheet of the big bubble type bubble wrap(the pink anti-static kind) . when I was done it looked slightly small soccer ball. I fit that into a cardboard box and used folding packing dividers to make sure it was well and tightly packed. I didn't want to give Canon any chance to claim that I had somehow damaged the camera in shipping. I included photocopies of my purchase recipt and my warranty card as they will not work on the camera without them.
My camera will go back at some point in the next few weeks as they didn't fix the focus issue right the first time. I wish you all the luck in the world rod. Based on my experience, you'll need it.

I've always been able to get to a "live" person when I call Canon so no problem there.
Is this the correct addr?;
Canon U.S.A., Inc.
California Factory Service Center

I sent my camera to the service center in NJ. It was received there at 9:28 this morning (according to Fedex tracking). I have not received any word from Canon yet. Before I sent the camera I was told to remove all batteries, the len and any accessories, except for the camera body and cover. I packaged the camera in it's original box (I hope I get that box back) and then placed it inside another box surrounded by those annoying packing peanuts. My camera was sent in for service because it would no longer power up. I hope they can fix it quickly as it was purchased specificly to photograph Mars (which is fast approching).
