Sony23, glad to see some different crops, I have a hard time not doing the rule of thirds when cropping, keep saying I am going to break the rules some times and images like that show me why I need to.

dwterry, The beach photo is great, and we know how tricky that exposure can be, you nailed it on that photo.

Thanks. It was done with a 420EX shooting thru an umbrella of to camera left with my 550EX pointed at the 420 instead of the couple so as not to light them from the front.

I'm amazed at how well E-TTL works some times. I mean, I know how to use a light meter and set up strobes and get the exposure perfect. And then I go and use a couple of flashes because I want to be portable (who takes a strobe out on the beach?) and without even getting out a light meter, the darn thing nails it first try. All I have to do is set my camera to expose the background and let the flash do the rest. Love it!

Don't know if this qualifies as a portrait... I took this photo during a visit to my in-law's. Mom-in-law pulled out some photos of my wife when she was a little girl. My wife was showing me one of them when I snapped this one. Taken with my EF 85 f.8, Tv=1/160th Av=f2.8 ISO=200 & 580EX.
