I’m fairly new at taking photographs with my DSLR… Only had it since Sept 05… I’ve just started experimenting with B&W and adding various filters to the lens… Over the weekend while taking pictures at the beach, all of which were B&W (camera setting, not post-processing), I ended up with three consecutive pictures that I cannot explain in the middle of my B&W shots… I do not remember if I used the macro setting on this or not, but I was using an orange contrast filter. It’s an interesting picture, but I do not understand why I did not get the B&W that I was expecting…

Focal Length: 31mm
Aperture: f/4.0

You say "camera setting".I take it you went into the menu on the cam and changed the parimeter setting to B&W ?.

To me it looks like its still on the normal colour parimeter with the orange filter, hence the shot you have ?.

Other than that ??.

I would say the say, it looks like it was taken settings, but with an orange filter over the lens

Thanks for the replys... I dont recall chaging the B/W options in the camera back to the color settings.. Owell, it still produced an interesting picture though... Post-processing conversion to B/W achieves a good photograph...
