I have recently 'lost' my Iimage Library One folder in zoom browser although the images still appear there. The folders are now black and not access-able. I cannot locate them anywhere else. I have 15 or so files I need to restore.

You need a file recovery app.
Example:

If you goto My Computer and browse to C:\Program Files\Canon\ZoomBrowser EX\Image Library One\My Images, are the jpg files still there? Do they still have a .jpg extension, or are they now .vbs or something else?

Jpgs are completely missing.
C:\Program files\Cannon\ZoombrowserEX no longer contains Image Library one, it contains 'database, camera bitmaps & my camera files' none of which hold image Library one or the missing jpegs. (I have searched the computer for the jpg titles to no avail. I thought of reloading the camera software, however the photos are of a project that has since changed and I need these jpgs badly.
I thought maybe I could recover from the thumnails as I still see the missing pix come up there. I see the files that are missing under 'program' but this message comes up when I try to access them. "Image file may have been renamed or removed" Which is possible as I run 3-d CADS using imported jpgs from the camera files and alot of juggling takes place. If any of this makes sense. I appreciate any and all help immensely.

I've recently posted the following advice on a win XP forum for a guy who had lost a stack (3 years worth) of files. He posted back to say the recovery had wotked!
Try this.
DO NOT write or delete anything to the drive you had the images on. If you do you are likely to overwrite the data and damage the images beyond recovery.
Go to: http:\\www.conar.de
download their PC File Inspector Recovery program.
It's free, and it works.
Run the program and follow the instructions - simple quick and easy.
Best of luck.

Hint - backup all your image files to another H/D or to CD.
