What is a Frimware 1.01 upgrade??

I read a post in which someone asked if another member had done a upgrade to his 10D with firmware 1.01. I'm a new 10D owner and can anyone tell me more about this subject and if this is something I need to do, or only if I run into difficulties with the camera?
Everything is fine so far.
