New roll of film with a few double exposures. What do you think? What could have been done better?

They both look very good to me Patrik. I like the quality of light in each - the red is very muted and a bit difficult to see at first (this could be the monitor at work which is not the best).

I like them both.

Nice effect. The trunk forest pic is too dark in the midtones, they are blocked up and muddy. The red in the flowers shot is also too dark and hard to tell exactly what it is. Other than that, these are lovely pictures.

Patrik, very nicely done. I'm really glad my double exposures are now done digitaly :)

I like what you have done and it is a high pass -- and I assume that you mean you used "FILM".

I have tried and failed in Photoshop -- but two Canadian pros who have succeeded with film are noted in these two earlier posts of mine:

I think that there is a place for this. I Especially like your daisies. And if you are doing this all digitally (i.e. without film, it would be nice to learn how you derive your background layer.

Leighow.

The flowers were made with FILM using 2 exposures, one sharp and one unsharp.

The effect in the trunk photo were made in photoshop. background layer sharp and one copied bg layer blurred ~ 10% then blend mode lighten. opacity ~30-40 %

Something like that :)

Thank you!

Well IMHO the flowers come out best.

I think that the (probably simple) challenge in PS is to get that "glass-like" circle of confusion that comes with film and a lens. Even the pros still use film, then scan the 2 slides and layer in PS.

Keep at it .. I do love "painterly" qualities in appropriate images.
