I have purchased my Canon S45 one week ago, and it has the original firmware version, I found a new version on the Canon Website, but i am not sure if it's working good. Anyone tried this Firmware update, let me know if it's recomended or not.

What does the new firmware do for you? I have the S45 and have never plugged it into my computer once during my 4 months of ownership. I download the pictures via a USB CompactFlash reader and am blissfully happy.
How will the new firmware improve my camera's performance?

The Firmware update version 126.96.36.199 fixes mainly two issues:
*The first one is the compatibility with some computers who gives error when downloading and uploading pics.
*The second issue is the occasional failure of the auto focus AF when in Telephoto mode.
The firmware is availble on the Canon website and to know wethere your camera needs to be updated just enter the Camera serial number located on the bottom end of the camera and the site will drive you through the download site if your camera needs to be updated.
