This is still life, black and white, and experimental. That can't be good.
This taken with a 28-135 (at 41mm) with a 550 and 580ex on an ST-E2 wireless transmitter. 1/100, f/16, iso100. The flashes were underneath and behind the rice. The rice was stuck in the top of an Ipod box.
I like it because I spent so much time on it and I have to like it. What do you think. I think since I wasn't even using the macro ability of the lens, I should have used my 70-200 2.8 or my 50mm 1.4 just to attain some extra sharpness. Otherwise, does it draw your attention or anything. It looks like a negative. Give me some advice so that I can make my wasted hours seem useful. I really suck at taking pictures of boring things.
If anything, at least you know what rice looks like. I stole this from the fields on harvest day. The farmers didn't seem to mind.
