It feels like I get fewer visitors to events that include 'Chumash Casino' in the title so I'll go stealth for a while. Anyway, here is Tower of Power from the Chumash Casino Resort, January 19th, 2006. I tried to make contact with them and get permission to shoot the whole concert from their tour manager, Raymond, but it just didn't happen. There was just no way to get good images of every in the band in only 'first three songs' and it would help to be able to shoot some from up on the side of the stage (but behind the walls and equipment so not seen.) I expect they'll be back and I will see if I can their interest by pointing them out to my website. So, here's the collage:

And a couple of other images:

There are a few more on my website at http://www.dwightmccann.com/ChumashCasinoResort/TowerOfPower01192006.htm. Please feel free to copy, edit, repost, use as wallpaper, print ... however, if you sell them both I and Tower of Power want a hefty piece of the profit!

Dwight, these images are just amazing, (as are all you concert photos). I have loved the music of Tower of Power for many, many years so this makes this post even more special for me. I have throughly enjoyed all your concert posts. Please keep 'em coming. :D

Top shelf stuff as usual. The third invididual shot is brilliant - DOF is just perfect!

Thanks, Joel. I am using this collage for wallpaper!
Just, thank you, too. Unfortunately I have just discovered that add my logo seems to destroy the EXIF on the underlying image, sigh. I am going to have to think about this. I am guessing the aperature at between f/4 and f/5.

Great shots Dwight! I was checking to see if their drummer was the guy I knew that used to be in ToP. Nope... Hey but look! We got our own area now!

OH, MY, YES! Wonderful! And someone, making less than a one-digit salary, did all the work! Thanks, ear!
Dimitry, until these last posts where I started adding my logo, the EXIF has always been embedded. I've got to look into seeing if I can preserve it, sigh.

Blue ... nice to hear from you again! Anyway, I expect to be at the casino for many years and I expect my reputation will evolve ... hell, I'm only 60 so I should have another ten or fifteen years of shooting before I can only work from a wheelchair! :-)

Wow, great stuff as usual!
I saved a couple to check out exif, as I skimmed some part saying you always embed exif, but then saw the other part about the logo.
The 4th shot, (headshot), is a stunner, although my eyes was drawn to the dirty mark on far left next to light. Dust spot? (I wouldn't have thought been visible at a pretty wide open aperture)

Fantastic shots as always. I particularly like the lighting in the top left image from the collage - very nice "edge" of light from the backlighting.

Dwight - Why is that happening ?
Can you elaborate on the technique on how to embedd a Logo, and why this causes the disappearance of embedded EXIF data ?

Wazza, you are absolutely right ... it is "dirt" on my sensor and I didn't pick it up in post processing ... it's been there almost a month ... I think I "caused" it the last time I cleaned my sensor ... gotta' go back in I guess. I change lenses a lot (five, six, ten or more times a concert) and accept that I may get dust. This is a little different ... sort of a smear. I am at a lull right now as I have a week off from the casino so I'll get to it. My 20D is even worse. And I need the newest firmware in both, too. Thanks!

Codex0, I owe that to the LD! :-) Thanks.

Roli, I am looking into it ... I am just very busy even with the lull from the casino and there appear to be more factors than I thought on the EXIF retention.

just copy and paste or drag your logo, it won't touch your EXIF
are you "saving for web" or "saving optimized"? If so that will kill your EXIF

Eric, I'm not using PS! I'm using PhotoImpact. I drag the logo from my library. EXIF handling is not well documented in PI.

Nice shots as usual. I like the first one of the singer. I would adjust the collage a bit: Now the heads in the top are 'jumping up and down'.

Rene, thank you. I was restricted to first three songs which makes getting enough image variety to for so many musicians impossible so for the collage I try to "get close" but your observation of the bobbing heads is well taken. I have a contact number for their manager and when they return to the casino I will contact them to see if I can make better arrangements for shooting.
