These aren't as smooth as Crypto's or Diminished's...but they're still fun...
1st one with plastic green shopping bag under a glass...there was residual oil in the eyedropper...2nd with red paper under glass.

i really like the oil residue, it makes you wonder if they're liquid or plastic molds of some sort, a new spin on a already interesting tecnique, i really like them.

Exactly what I was thinking as I scrolled down past your post - looks plastic - very interesting effect !

Thanks for the comments folks...as I said there are better (drop) shots all over these threads...
I just followed Lord V's setup...

I had a small drinking glass with a multi angled base...placed it on a plastic green bag...set up the camera on a tripod and a desk lamp over (just off to the side) the glass. I placed a screwdriver tip into the middle of the glass and focussed on it...then just used the eyedropper to try and hit the same spot as the screwdriver....as others have said it's hit and miss but the results you get are inspiring enough to keep going...(it's actually quite addictive - must get "good drop shot")

and thanks for the "hobby" thread bolantej...fascinating discussion from just two photos...

Now see what you made me try! I used a plastic cup, A95 point and shoot on a tripod and the built-in flash at 1/3 power. You really did motivate me and I thank you for it. These are also on the macro thread. By the way, I put green typing paper under the cup and used water out of the tap. I dripped it with an eyedropper and just kept shooting unitl I got something similar to your pics. Thanks for your help!!!!

grrr

lol - I have several hundred attempted shots at this. Some worked, many didn't - but it was fun, it kept me quiet and let my wife watch her choice of TV programs

Next time I will try with the coloured paper - great effect.

looks good, the green seems to be more effective than the red

Good start Mike! Yep, it sure takes a lot of tries to get anything. I am learning that you really don't know exactly when the camera is going to take the picture after you push the button. But we are here to learn and this forum is a big help.
