Its hard to explain, as im not entirely sure how I managed it myself. I can tell you, however, that it involved a rather high speed, a short jump and a steel rail.
I got the day off work today :D

No photos, thank-god.
I might go visit the doc today, other than that no first aid. They did come out and asked if I wanted it looked at tho.
Moppie
28th of April 2006 (Fri), 18:59
If you dislocated your shoulder and havn't yet been to the Doc then I assume you've done it before?
If not then you need to get your Ass down to the Doc or at least the A&E quick smart.

yeah done it before lol. I've made myself a little sling from an old belt hah.

Im somewhat sceptical of health professionals. ( Doc, A&E etc).
I havnt been to my GP for several years now. The guys retired now so I dont even know who I'd see.
All they will tell me is that i need to rest and Ice it. Then take my $$.
Moppie
28th of April 2006 (Fri), 19:10
That makes for expensive rest and ice.
Any Joint injury should get looked at though.
Its possible to do damage to the tendons and cartilidge etc, that isn't imedialty apprent, but could cause major problems later on. And while you can ski with one hand, shooting a camera is a little more tricky.

I think I'm really going to like this lens :D
I use foam earplugs on the motorbike so the focus noise isn't an issue
Only problem at the moment is the cost of a 77mm cir-pol :(
At least a ND4 isn't too much...

I have been using v2.0.3 since October 2005 (it was released 5/10/26). I have had no problems with the update. Also, the 16MB CF card with it on is carried in the bag, as occasionally, re-installing can fix a camera error. The installation instructions must be carried out to the letter.

I played lots of Boulders Gate 2 on the PS2 with Amanda, managed to talk her into going to the beach for half an hour, and wish I had taken the camera, great reflections in mud flats at Eastern Beach.
Otherwise it was dinner with her family at Baracudas on sat night, which is a fantastic resturaunt for those close to bucklands beach.

It breaks support for older Seagate Microdrives. If you have 2.0.3 and the original Seagate Microdrive you will have problems, only fix is to downgrade firmware or replace the Microdrive (non field upgradable) with the latest one (ca be done for free by Seagate but takes a couple of months  ).

Hi Wazza, thanks for the welcome.
What didn't you like about the Cokin filter ?
One of the guys on another site reckoned that the cokin holders were good but to get singh-ray or Lee filters. Others have said that there is nothing wrong with cokin... the problem is the difference in price. :) ...cokins cheap.

I think my mistake was using the CPL on lens, and then putting the Cokin system on with ND filters. Light reflected onto/from the CPL and caused all sorts of funny looking light into the pictures. Like browns and greens. Haven't tried again since.

Welcome to the forum. I just recently bought a Cokin P ND grad setup. I have only used it once and can definately see the potential it has for improving sunsets etc. If you want to use it with your 10-20 you will have to modify it to avoid vignetting. All you have to do is cut off the last 2 holders with a hack saw or something. That means you can only use 1 filter (+ the CP if you have one) at a time instead of 3, but that is not a problem for me.

@weka2000 - Yeah, the problem is apparently a slight colour cast... I'm not sure how much of a problem this could be, in reality it must be very slight. Where did you buy your cokin Z kit from ?..and if you dont mind me asking how much did it cost?

I have the same feeling with photography as I did with computers. I will do it for a job one day... funny thing is that I hold no computer qualifications at all. My first 20D from Parallel Imported had the serial number cut off and a fake one put over the top. The camera works fine so I don't care. I think it's even been back to Canon for repairs and they didn't say anything, but that might've been the other 20D.
Yep I went full time 2-3 months back, I plan to work wedding season in photography and the colder months in IT. The funny thing is I just put up my prices and i'm getting even more inquiries. I have weddings booked for July (1), September (2), October (1), November (1 or 2), December (1 or 2), and a few for Jan-April too. I can't think of a single thing i'd rather be doing. I've recently started doing a little work with models too, for fun, I have a free shoot on Friday, and another in a couple of weeks with the winner of Miss Lower Hutt. Might talk to some of the runner-ups too, do some photos for the fun of it :)

"That is so true. So many people that I have talked to, manly married ones with the home loan and family, stay unhappy because of both."
Mark -- you've probably spoken with some... In spite of all the hardships of having a family and a mortgage, there are those of us (I being one of them) who would not trade being single and carefree (in a good sense of the word) to being happily married with children.;)
Dave -- I see where you're coming from. I'm turning 42 tomorrow, with most of the last year being jobless:( But looking back, all I need to focus on are the good things that have happened... if I didn't then I probably would be "disconnected"
Wow... that was difficult typing before 9am ;-)

Spending the morning with my son whose school is having its soccer field day today. Nice weather to take a few pics.
I've become the "un-official" school photographer. The teachers chose to print 60 images of school camp at which I took several hundred pics. Hopefully there will be some from today that they can include in their school mag.
Have a great day everyone!

Congrats John.
In amongst editing Westpac chopper shots last night, showed Simon one of my favourite V8 pics, for the framing with curb, sharpness of front car,and heat haze. He pointed out the orange guys were a distraction - so true. :)
So, 2 min in photoshop I did this:
I know it's not accurate, but it just shows with 10min on the original and user a finer tool, I could remove it, and no one would know.;)

My Sigma 120-300 is in for repairs. I broke the AF, with a bit of a knock on Sunday night.
So, a quick visit to Auckland Camera.. That's a lie, it was more like 30min, and good browsing of their current gear. They have a bigger range of L lens now. :)
$100 later for the deposit/assessment, I'm guessing it will cost 400-500

This is not a smack on the hand and a "naughty corporation" this is the goverment bending Telecom of its Knee and getting out the extra large wooden spoon.
Therresa is going to be spending a few days writing "Do not Screw over New Zealanders with out dated internet access" on the black board.
Now, all we have to do is wait till next year for the legisation to take effect.

It's about time. This will mean (with any luck) faster internet and investment in the internet for the famers, which will keep Fonterra happy.
See that Telecom lost 7% in it's share price in OZ.
One thing for sure, Telecom is going to have a ruff day on the NZ sharemarket tomorrow.

Unfortunatly Iv had the best Customer Services, and the best service useing Xtra, thanks to Telecoms control of the market that make it impossible for anyone else to offer a competitive package, and if say the right things thier customer service centres are very good at helping with Tech Issues.

[shudder] I've had Xtra's helpdesk on a Saturday morning, saying that a business client who wasn't getting any incoming e-mail (due to ADSL outage) should call back during business hours to get the problem attended to... (okay, so businesses shouldn't really rely on ADSL but many are forced to due to cost)
I've had Xtra's hepldesk say a C.E.O. of a major Australasia Insurance company would have to wait 10 days for a "technician" to visit his house to check an ADSL problem (I'd already isolated the problem to the DSLAM/Exchange jumpering)
oh, and I fitted the ADSL wiringto the Xtra helpdesk manager's house.
main problem is they have a higher staff turnover than the beer in my fridge.

Resize image to the size you need, eg 1800x1200 for a 6x4 @ 300dpi. Then sharpen. Resizing mucks up sharpening so you have to sharpen after any resize. Sharpen last. If you need to output in multiple sizes then open in biggest size, edit, save psd/tiff. Sharpen, save, revert to saved, resize, sharpen, then save in other size.
Hope that makes sense. Me tired.

Oh Iv had lots of problems with the people who do the service work, I spent 6 months hasseling them to fix a fault on the pole outside my parents house, and it took them so long to install the ADSL at my old house, and my current flat that I got lots of free credits from them.
But the people who do the service work are sperate from the people who do the helpdesk surport, who I have always found to be very helpful, infact they have been very good in giving the service guys instructions from me, that have fixed the problem.
