SS that kitty is too much, shes so cute! Lovely shot.

Tony you are amazing going out and getting those great shots. I so wanted to get that old hut last weekend we were there but it was too sand blasty at top of dune. Nice shots, I love the moodiness.

Im at my desk (got here at 6.40) and its pouring, dark and Monday morning. . Ewwww the week looms ahead without even the anticipation of winning the cup back.

Have a nice week everyone.

At least you made it to work, hah
My car is a no go. 2nd time this has happened, so I'm presuming the alternator isn't healthy.

You had me worried for a second, Wendy. I thought the America's cup as over, with a 5 - 2 loss to us... unstable wind conditions eh

Ah ha Kirst, I picked that up ages ago but didnt want to admit to beeing a snooper lolol. I look at everyones profiles, just to get an idea of who they are and esp if they have a website I can peek at ;)

Yes, we are two lovely ladies, although I never did pretend to be a lady, so I guess Im an old gal! Aries hey! What a difficult star sign to be!

Tony, did you want to come visit yesterday when you offered to bring books??? You need to be more explicit or implicit, or demanding/explainitory ....whateva, its difficult to read into your 4 word pm's lol. Maybe Im just dumb! . I am too polite to allow you to bring over books when its so far out of your way, but if you had said you feel like a drive up North and to pop in and say hi....well of course I would have accepted your offer. Glad you got some good work done though, and we all know you are happy as doing your own thing

Remember also I have RA and take heavy duty drugs which make me very tired, I have to rest a lot. I can sleep 13 hours in 24 or more. Its a pain but something I have to live with. The weather doesnt help either, who wants to go out in the rain, not me!

Went to see Glam on Saturday (wife made me leave CC at home) and walked out with a 24-105L (only borrowed) had a play with a 5d with 24-105 and a 10-22 all very nice to play with and want even more, had a play with some canon L with IS binoculars they were nice it is amazing how steady it is with the IS on but at $2600 I don’t think I will get a pair. Have to head back up to see Glam now to drop the lens back off to him I guess I have to save up a little more to get the 24-105 but it was amazing how much sharper it was over the 24-70 2.8 sigma

Sorry dont buy that it was sharper than the sigma. I have owned both and all I can say is you have a soft Sigma. It is as sharp as the Canon 24-70 F2.8
The ONLY reason I sold the sigma was 82mm and not weather sealed.

here's one for the IT folks: I have a friend that has a laptop that has died (motherboard gone west) and wants me to build them a desktop system. Typical use would be word processing, internet stuff, and their son does a bit of games (nothing too serious)
The laptop had a COA for XP so hoping just to transfer the license.

Budget is $1000 and would like as a minimum:
19" LCD monitor
250Gb HDD
1Gb RAM
DVD writer
Minitower sized case
CPU - no exact requirements, just best value really.

has anyone got any serious reccomendations? this should be a do-able project right?

Mark, don't go around doing that.. I might want to trade in my 24-70 for a 24-105! There are times when the 105 end will indeed come in handy and save me from having to change lenses all the time.

Hmmm, I wonder how much I can sell my 24-70?

$1000 could be pushing it a bit especially with a 19" LCD, but I haven't really looked into it lately, so you never know. I think you will find that OEM XP licences are tied to the hardware these days, so if you want to be completely above board there, you will have to by a new XP licence:cry: but I won't tell if you don't:rolleyes:

Have to agree with iK. When pricing my camera no retail store had them in stock in NZ. ACC said they would beat/better any price and offered a camera to use while waiting for stock to arrive. No other store came close. However, I ended up buying from P+V in ChCh.

Dont be scared, plenty of us know how to help you, I have a good cleaner which is absolutly safe if you need me to do some dusting for you ;)
Really! Excellent - heart attack over :)

im trying to decide whether i want my $40 or my sleep tonight
ive got til 11pm to make up my mind: thats when the after hours chemist closes
Options for you to weigh.. if you please ;)
Keep your 40 smackers, don't sleep, wake up feeling like crap tomorrow, then crap all day, then ponder spending the 40 smackers again, but don't, and then not sleep, then wake up feeling even worse than tomorrow (it makes sense, really), then feel like you've been hit by a train all day, then ponder spending the 40 smackers agaaaain, but don't, then wake up feeling even more horrid than the day after tomorrow.. and so the cycle continues
Spend the 40 smackers, get some sleep. Feel better tomorrow

Nah - don't spend it ;)

for fecks sake..

yes it is funny - mainly because it gets reactions such as the one above.

You have your opinion on drugs and drink and you have your reasons for having them. Now others have different opinions about the same subject - both people have that right and also have the right to air thous opinions.

a response is good - thats why we are all members of a forum. \

However your comments were not an opinion but to tell someone else that their opinion was only to get at (bait) you. Well its time to have a look around (maybe in a place where those clouds have cleared) so you can see that the world does not revolve around you.

Hell I have had a number of bad experiences in my time as have everyone else here - do you want everyone to list them so the conversations can avoid them.

Hi All, Back from the Photo workshop in Münster.
Fantastic weekend. I was staying with my mate Gary Kapluggen from New Zealand along with about 20 other photographers and models. A lotr of partying and not much sleep.
Last night I drove the 700 km back in 5 1/2 hours! I love German Autobahns

There where 40 people from about 25 different countries there.
Learnt some greaat new stuff & took many great pictures.
Haven't sorted or processed any yet.
Happy 40th to me

Guess what I got for a present..................

A brand spanking new soft BLUE ROBE

Hell I would have been schocked if it was fine. The last 1 I rember was my 9th B/D

Congrats on the Birthday Tony.

I'd probably get slapped for making her look 20 again. Nice edit though.

That's one thing I never do with my images - photoshop/layers/soften.
Pretty much no edits these days, apart from USM once resized. Learnt a lot from wedding photography - shoot not to crop, shoot with horizons dead level - saves so much time. :)

He he. I take quite a lot of glamour photography, and it is expected there.
I agree with what you say. The more you can get right in the camera, the less work you have afterwards.

They were a good distance away. She was on a rock doing yoga. He had come out of the water after a swim. I dont think he was worryed about showing much except for a couple of frozen peas

f22 for that, but you get the effect from about f8 onwards. I think exposure time may also have an effect. My assumption is that it's light creeping through the joins in the blades of the aperture diaphram. Probably totally wrong but it's a nice theory.

Yes, I"ll take a kit lens over with me and give it a bit of a work-out.
Thats 57 working days, so approx 11 1/2 weeks.

I did give them a bit of a hard time early in the piece regarding the parts they nominated as to replace which would have had no bearing on the issue that I was having with the camera.

We will see...I think the camera went back & forth to Aust. a couple of times after some of my emails

When I got mine back a few weeks ago, it was FILTHY! I think they forgot to clean it after replacing the shutter mechanism & focus mechanism.

EDIT: In fact, if you think about it, it's hard to take bad handrail photos. Such a dynamic subject to work with. Apart from the fact that some of them are a little pretentious and think that you should be shooting them in better light....

Thankfully none of them gave me crap about model releases etc tonight, and only one of them called a body guard on me (the handrail outside the Vodafone building - little cow).
