Anyone.............. No one wants to go out with me

What? and play 'follow the leader' ;)

Sadly, have to shovel and barrow a whole pile of top soil from the back yard before the rain turns it to mud.... Now there's a thought....Maybe I could interest Tony in some 'ground control'...

Come on you lads get organised and put your back into it. Ive painted the hall, toilet, bathroom and laundy ceiling so the rest of the day is mine.

As for follow the leader that has some advantages...... watch the leader sink into the mud..."do go there"

Ian I have done 20yrs of manual labour. I have moved dirt with everything from a shovel to a tractor to a 5 tonne digger.

Built for speed not comfort. I weighted 65 kg when I left school and Im still under 70kg last time I checked I was 67. If I get sick for a couple of days and dont eat I can loose 3 kgs easy.

When I was at school I was a middle / long distance runner. Mind you I was always saying something to someone who was bigger than me I figures if they could catch me they were then able to beat the crap out of me, that didnt happen often

Somethings havnt changed much :)

Climbing down some rocks and slipped almight crunch. Bashed leg and arm bit sort and cuts and bumps. The Camera came off very lucky. Hood is scratched the tripod in which the camera was on to most of the fall.

But hey its a Canon and if it cant take a few knocks then whats the point.

macro lens anyone...

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Electronics-photography/Camera-accessories/Lenses/Canon/auction-75917722.htm

guess what i was looking for...

Lucky you didn't buy it...

Heres some more over priced stuff on trademe: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Electronics-photography/Camera-accessories/Lenses/Canon/auction-75917722.htm

Total price from AC, thats their shelf price, is only $3971

I had another thought. Why not put an add on TM. $1 reserve for a 30D. When people click on it to look you can simply say the camera was nicked, give serials etc. At least then people will be looking out for it.

Secondly, go to pawn shops and secondhand shops and pass on the info. Also, if you give the serial to Canon, I'm sure they keep a look out for it if it comes in for service.

TBH, my missus bought me a book of his work and I wasn't overly impressed. I suppose it's easy to get a book to print when you have a publishing company. However, I don't think I could do any better...yet. I went to the museum today to have a look at the photos. They were very mediocre images BUT the presentation makes them stand out and gives them something. Viewing pictures on a screen just isn't the same as printing and framing.

Weka, IMO, the sand dunes would be superb if framed in a simple black frame with a white matte.

That sucks so much  My house was broken into a few years ago, and they stole my canon film camera, my olympus point and shoot digital, and I thought that was it until a few months later, when I saw someone wearing a holden jacket like mine - I was going to give it to a mate as I had won it from Holden motorsport in Aussie (they didn't sell the same one over here), but it was too big - when I got home it wasn't there  So I probably either saw the thief or one of his associates. Here is the shot before the fall. The rock I sliped on is the round tan one in the water. Next time I will get my feet wet.

What lens was that with?
Looks fish-eyed a bit
Sweet colours and contrast.

Was this before or after The Incident.

Ill set it up down the bottom before we scatter the ashes. Should make a nice dust cloud at sunset before they settle into the falls.

Yes, but can you imagine us sitting around doing a sensor clean after that....;)
Could send them into Canon, and ask them to keep the 'dust' for us...Hey,enough of this morbidity! "Number 2000 is ALIVE!!!!"

I grew up in Beachlands, mudflats and rock out crops, with sandstone cliffs.
I also spent enough time around farms to know not to stand in the tall dark green pratchs of grass unless your feet are cold.

Im going to make an effort to get out with you one day, its just finding time at the moment.
Maybe the 19th?

Tony, RawBeauty has a double-entendre - Raw can mean explicitly sexual. If that is not what you want to have passing through viewers' minds, perhaps it should not be used.

I did pick the name in part for my "glamour" side taking a natural woman and making a photo of her beauty. I did not think about the sexual side of "Raw"

My wife and I are still in discusion over this matter. Shes not 100% happy and thats ok by me....I have a dream it is something I want to do, so we will work it out.

have spent the best part of an hour on the phone to two insurance companies, then came the fun a games of the database on my phone that was also nicked.

4 members of staff had the fun and games of changing all our customers login in, telco accounts, vpns, passwords and any other data that we needed to. (it took all day and some time tommorow)
Explained to customers what had happened and what we were doing was a failsafe to protect them. Just in the off chance that the scrot that stole my gear knew what to do with the data (if they could crack the password). it was a 1 - 1000 chance (if not more) but better to be pro active than not. got to see insurance company tommorow about replacing my gear. I have told the guy selling what the story is, so he is happy.

However the 5D is only $500 of the retail price .

I may just replace the 30d and get some new 'L' to play with..

i will be replacing the 70-200.

thanks for the commiserations,,, very stressful at work, but we had to cover our arses.

As for Harvey's only the 5D on special was interesting. but its only $500 off retail and i bet buying a couple of lens and the body i could save more than that else where (if you know what i mean) maybe a trip to AC myself to look .. ;) (thanks for the offer) and it also depends on the insurance co. Ummmm, I never walk with it round my neck or I'd be rubbing my forehead on the ground. It's either in the bag or I carry it. Don't know why but I have always carried my cameras in my hand with the neck strap wound round my wrist.

I find the balance to be perfect (for me). I just picked up my 10D, couldn't remember how to drive it and found it to be too light. The physical size of the 1D v 10D (with gripe!!) isn't that much different.
