If you go to sleet at 6-7am when do you get up? Are you a student?
I Don't know what the general opinion is about DeviantArt.
I have known it for years as a couple of people I know have accounts on it, I must admit I haven't realy looked at it .

Nice shots Blair - though a little on the dark side... unless that is what you wanted in the first place.
Monitor calibration is a must -- it saves you the headache of having to re-do your pics after spending hours tweaking them. You can grab either Spyder Express or Pro which does a good job. Monaco is alos a great tool but cmes with a price tag.

Ouch that's a huge cost for a repair!
My Sigma lens cost $550 for a full barrel replacement, and AF tweak etc.. And shipping back and forth to Japan. Canon NZ are asses, and take too long to repair, that's why I'm hesitant to put through my 580EX to fix the red light beam emitter issue.
that's ture. most of the cost is labour :( that's always a killer. The way I look at it is it's cheaper to it both items fixed than to go out and replace the them. the lens is biggest item on the list with about $200 on parts only.
the lens I would replace it with is 24-70 F2.8

:?
I'm not sure what you're trying to say.
Gravity is (thought to be) like your bedspread. In effect, everything on earth is being pulled towards its center...
Actually, the everything doubling in size every nanosecond is quite an interesting theory for gravity too.
But I probably shouldn't bring this up amongst a group of Star Trek fans.

I'm definitely talking about the Earth itself, tho there are a lot of dense people around! The more mass there is, in a small space, the more dense it is, and the more gravity there is.
Every planetary body, including the Earth, is surrounded by its own gravitational field, which exerts an attractive force on any object. This field is proportional to the body's mass and varies inversely with the square of distance from the body.
Now, the most interesting part is how gravity (the force) actually works - no one knows, you can't block gravity, for example, because there is seemingly nothing to block. No particles of gravity have ever been observed. This is where the expansion of matter theory makes its entry (can't remember what its actually called).

if I was you I would have upgrade that too. No I am not just talking about the big huge dell screen I am currently looking at. But I am talking at least 19" that way you can have two screens running at the same time. Also use DVI on the main screen. you will get a better picture.
the way I see it, is that for PS work the screen is perhaps the most important part. Why cut back on that.

Yeah these shots don't do justice, at 640x467, unedited, batch resized. :)

Hi All
Not sure to be honest :o I just turn on the pc and it goes? Apparently the unis are hooked up to some wizzy system though, so we can collaborate and share information with colleagues quickly and easily - I'm sure this counts

Just phoned up Canon regarding, repairing my 580EX.
Advised won't be repaired until January, as they have "loads" of repairs and a very long wait.
Said I will come by first week of January then, and drop off my 20D and grip, sort out that issue, and also repair the flash, red light emitter, focusing error.

Colours have been pumped up so much they have become a bit noisy. And the contrast is obviously fiddled with.

There will always be problems. My wife adds snide remarks every now and then. The question is if it is a big enough problem to affect your relationship or not. At the moment is is not a big problem with my wife and I. BUT Women seem to have the ability to pull arguments out of thin air from 15 years ago or that don't have anything to do with what you are discussing. A mans taking artistic nude or glamour photos, which are normally OK or even praised suddenly become Dirty Photos:evil:

Got some voltaren?
It shouldn't still be bothering you too badly, you must have really damaged it.
Take care, and I hope it gets better.
I was thinking of heading out west, untill this rain came in.
Having a look at the xtra weather maps its look theres a lovely front perched off the Auckland region.
Might be a really great sunset, or it might be a wasted half a tank of gas.

Thanks Moppie. Yep, Voltaren/Ibuprofen + Tramal for the last 3 days. The Volatren I can tolerate... whilst the Tramal makes me sleep some 20 hours in the day. When I'm up I feel groggy/woozy.
