Pekka,
I was doing some more tests with LinearSharpen. I have posted a couple of samples here:

Your action seems to have done something very strange to the red jacket on the cocktail waiter. I'm afraid I'm not sufficiently expert on PS colour adjustments to work out what should be adjusted.
Any thoughts?

Roger

Hi,
The problem you see is because you did
"1. Linear TIFF output.
2. Miranda Linear profile assigned.
3. LinearSharpen V1.01 VR2 applied "
Step 2 is INCLUDED in step 3! LinearSharpen does Fred's profile conversion after sharpening. Now you actually did profile conversion twice. Sorry if I haven't been clear on this.

Pekka,
Spot on! Just to be absolutely certain: when the linear is is loaded, the correct selection is "Leave as is (don't colour manage")?
Now I just have to work out, if I did it right on all the other images. :-(
Thanks for the quick response.
Regards,
Roger

Yes. I have disable color management alltogether from PS6 and Win2000, so I don't get that question at all, unless PSD file had e.g. AdobeRGB when saved (i.e. color space info is really embedded to the file).

Just to finish the story... I had made the same mistake on these images:
http://www.rogercavanagh.com/banff/index_1.htm
i.e., assigned the linear profile twice. I re-processed the images correctly. It did not, in fact, make a huge difference, except on a few the overall luminance was higher in the incorrect images, so I applied a contrast mask to boost lowlight detail on 4/12 and boosted saturation on 1/12.
So my original conclusion "Brilliant action, Pekka!" still stands.
I think I will do the same as you and disable the profile assignment box.
Regards,
Roger
