Hi Pekka,
I have evaluated your ee 1.3 release candidate and found that it is a first class gallery software :) !
So I heard that you soon plan to release a new version ee 1.5 and I intend to purchase a single license of it.
Please can you give me an info about the planned approx. price (EUR) for a single license of ee 1.5 (not upgrade, but full version)?
Is it also possible to upgrade from ee 1.3 to ee 1.5 ? How would be the pricing then?
Thanks a lot for an info and have a nice time!
Best regards,
Benno
P.S.: I haven’t seen a better WEB photo gallery software than yours until now! :)

Hi Benno,
Thanks for your kind words.
So far my policy has been that all upgrades are free those who have registered.
I may change this in time, but that change will not affect anyone already registered.
Full EE 1.5 one site licence will be 35 Euros until 15.8.2003 and then there will be a price change (if tax people here are kind to me then that may not be even neccessary).
1.5 is well on its way to public beta release. I just coded Imagemagick's MOGRIFY support (so Imagick is not needed if you can enable safe mode) with 10 preset levels of sharpening based on image size, and things like copy/move/delete utility which moves, copies and deletes data by ftp (so now when you delete a photo from database images can be deleted as well by EE). That editor will make batch deleting etc. very easy. Today I finished author's sort order editor where you can move photos up/down using mouse.
Tomorrow I start working on language editor (simple) and language installer (simple but a lot of coding) and after that it needs few additions here (like adding SSL option to ftp) and there and voila.
Beta will be released as full install first, and few days later as update to 1.3 and 1.22. As soon as bug/feature reports have come in and fixed I'll release the full version ASAP (unlike with 1.3 :))

Hi Pekka,
thanks a lot for your fast response and your info regarding the ee pricing policy!
I'm looking forward to the full version of ee 1.5 and as far as you release it after beta phase, I will purchase one license for sure!
And I think 35,- EUR is a very fair price for this software - and, by the way, for the case that tax people will not be so kind to you, I would pay even a higher price for it, no doubt :)
Happy coding and lots of success,
Rgds,
Benno

Hi Pekka,
I don't want to hassle you....but I will anyway...what sort of time frame are we looking at for V1.5 to appear? Days, weeks, months? Your EE application is the best I have tried, but I don't want to do anything major with it until 1.5. Oh and I will buy a licence for it when it is out ! Is that incentive enough ?
Keep up the good work!!

I plan to release full version beta of 1.5 in few hours (thee to four hours from the moment I write this). I'm now adding a "delete language" feature and creating an EE Backup dump of empty clean EE installation for delivery. Then I have to write what's new text and some instruction for testing and using it. There are also some known problems, some PHP version related, Imagemagick related etc.
Next week I'll be shooting one festival so during that time I'll gather reports and fix those there as much I have time.
The beta will be fully functional and hopefully there will be no changes to database tables (only files) when moving from beta to real 1.5.

Finally. I have been checking Exhibit Engine discussions daily for EE 1.5. I'm planning to use 1.5 on my new site that is under developement. Pekka, if you want I can install 1.5 beta and give you some testing extra testing experiences and constructive thoughts about it, since I'm going to, most likely, install it anyway eventually. You can reach me with dani at dani.cx for personal stuff.(and yes, I am paranoid when it comes to email-grabberbots. :-)

However, by pressing the donate link in http://photography-on-the.net/ee/ only allow me to pay with USD, not Euro.
I have to copy the email address (PayPal Account Name) and start from begainning.
Pekka, can you fix the link?

I donated too. But I don't mind if I have to pay again. This software is simply awesome. I've been following this since almost the beginning.

Old fashioned, perhaps... and i still do not own a digital camera... ;-)
How to donate and/or pay without a credit card? Paypal doesn't work any other way...
