Wow! I'm impressed (as usual!;))

The only thing I'm not keen on is that the water seems to stop very suddenly in a dead straight vertical line.

Hi Martin, I think this is a very good shot however I am not sure why the background has to be totally black, where is its natural habitat if that was where it was shot?

There is so much more detail in the head and neck and not the body and it looks somewhat unnatural to me.

regards,
Peter

I have to agree with the others about the black background around the head and neck, especially since there is some water in the lower part of the photo. Otherwise, its a beautiful photo.

This is interesting, Martin. With the tight crop, hard light and black bg it is somewhat abstract, almost an exercise in form. (S-curve composition.) I would like to see more water ripples in front of the swan; as Jenga noted it seems odd to have them stop abruptly.

MARTIN

I wish that I could take B& W photos like this one. It is very striking. Just beautiful.

martin, this is a very nice shot. the problem I have is the bottom of the neck, beginning of the breast area crop. If the swan were "flat" in the water this would be spectacular :)
