Bronx Zoo, loved this gorilla. Looks to me like he has plenty of attitude, LOL typical Ny'er! Plus, it looks like he is passing it on to Jr.

Makes me think of Dinero in Taxi Driver... "You talkin' to me?" Haha :D
Great picture. Very candid. The expression on their faces is priceless! Wonderful capture.

It's a very humorous pic, Tim.
Some nitpicking:
There seems to be a slight blue cast. I dumped your pic into PS and auto-colored, which warmed it up nicely.
Also consider a square crop; you've got a lot of unnecessary space on the right.
Finally consider burning in the log on the left (where Jr. is sitting) as it is very bright.
And optionally, add a touch of vignette.

Well done guys ... Reminds me of when I would go and ask my boss for a raise -- of course his sercretary would not leave the room. Its the same pose my wife would have when I arrived back home. Looks like the wilds of Africa to me.

must be a wonderful zoo .... being new york
(which I love)
:)
I laughed at howies remarks
no fear of that happening now that you have retired howie ?
???
but didn't mitch post a picture here showing what may be a better version... should it be preferred.
has that picture gone or are my eyes playing tricks?
it was very good
and the cropping etc
although the greenery around the apes give more of the natural 'jungle ' look.....
maybe.
now I can't compare .
nearly everytime we look we see a different slant on things.
in ours and in others photographs

Tim,
I tried resetting the white and black point in photoshop and it did help bring out the color. I also tried eliminating some of the blue cast using the midtone and highlight color correction in ps7 and it really made a difference. However, I tried cropping the shot to eliminate some of the foilage on the right and it "centered" the gorillas which I did not like! I like the extra foliage in the shot. I also darkened the blown out log the baby is sitting on and it helped. Hope this helps a little. The expressions on their faces are priceless however. I've never seen gorillas pose like this. It's like you asked them to and they said "ok, go ahead and shoot!" Totally incredible!!!!

Thanks patrick,
maybe the blue haze is from either oversharpening, they really do have some silver on their fur, or because it was shot through thick glass?
Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it!

Haha!! Glass would do that! I have shot animals through glass and get the blue tint. Your shot is so clear though, I didn't even realize it was through glass. Nice shot!!!
