I bought a used Sigma 70-300 APO Super Macro II for my sister in law the other week and since she hasn't picked it up yet I took it with me last week when we went to the Winnipeg zoo. I got some decent shots but I quite like this one.

Nice shot. I like the colors. Hey can that lens be used with a TC?

Yes but you may loose auto focus. I have the Tamron TC but I haven't tried it yet with this lens.

Oh I forgot to ask before. Is that lens comprable to Canon's 70-300mm IS USM or 70-300mm III

Its generally thought of as being a step up in quality from the Canon's.

Yes but which one The IS is around $550.00 and the III is about $180.00.

Optically the Sigma's better but the canon with IS adds some benefit for those times you are hand holding the lens. Its all a tradeoff....but the cost differences are huge.
