I'm by no means class myself as a photographer, but do like taking photos. Only have a Olympus 310 Zoom (point and shoot), but it does give some nice looking photos. Here are 2 I really liked, so would like opinions good and bad.

PS: They have had some photoshop treatment to improve them a bit

Hi Chris
I think those are very nice photos. Well exposed and focused with nice colours. One thing I would say is about your mallard. I think you could crop more off the left hand side which is just empty space and add more space to the right of the birds beak in the direction the bird is facing. I think it just gives a more pleasing composition. :)
btw you are a photographer and you did it very nicely ;)

Thanks for the feedback. The original Mallard image had only just got the tip of the bill in, so had to add some background to it. May have to move the head over and fill in the difference, as adding more to the edge of the photo may stand out too much.
These are the unedited (but resized) versions

I see what you mean. In that case when you are next out think about the space around the ducks just as much as the ducks themselves. That way you give yourself more room to place with ;) A good composition is just as important as the subject within it.

Evening Chris

Nice to see you got your photo posting off the ground with the obligatory duck shot :)

Quality work. Didn't see you sneak in here :)
