I have finally got my web photo albums up and running on my website. I have posted pictures from many cameras, but mostly from my Canon EOS 10D and my older Minotla Dimage7 series (7, 7i and 7hi). I am constantly adding new photos to the site and found a "FREE" program to create the web album. It is the easiest program I have ever used, especially when updating photos. It also gives the EXIF info which I think is important for other photographers to examine to see how the shot was composed, and to give feedback on improving the shots. The link is:

I have used the web album creator in Photoshop and also the one from PhotoImpact and also the one from Macromedia Dreamweaver, etc., and this album creator is still the easiest to set up and use.

Here is the link to my new photo albums.

I hope you all enjoy!!

the gallery is beautifully presented
it takes a lot of time and trouble to put pictures together like it

many lovely photographs to look at
and I am just mentioning a few of those I liked best
(not to say whats needed to make them better)
any photographs left out, they are just as good
we all like different 'all sorts'
I love the 'yellow red rose in full bloom' in the flowers section
in the birds section the first picture,
love it
the ' pelican' is very sharp
and looking at its feet makes the bird seem very shy
( to me)
you know when we werevery young, sometimes our feet seemed to go that way,
it seems like thats the way they would have been . probably see it with children today

2nd shot of the other pelican is terrific also.
my favourite birds .
well I like all birds mostly but I find pelicans fascinating

In the landscape section the photograph of the 'foothills' is so clear and crisp
its a most beautiful scene
and the 'pismo panoramic ' shot and 'slo view' are beauties
the stars and moon shots also are very good also

in the macro section
'canon snail' is so clear. great picture.
is the other snail really that blue or is it like the
'cooperating frog' with the lovely face ?
( just blue in the face watching you ?
your description says it all :)

the fluffy naked dandelion is wonderful too.

no pictures are in the other sections yet... I think
very nice show altogether
'mystical' was a word I had down first re the other picture on your post in 'share' section last night also
but I put 'magical' down

good luck with all

The second snail was with a close-up filter set Marie, and I was VERY close, so the light wasn't exactly right. It was darker outside though and the snail was darker than others I have seen.

I will be posting an album of fireworks shots I got last night sometime today if you'd like to see that.

Thanks for your kind words on the gallery. I know that a lot of these pictures aren't with a Canon camera, but more and more will be and it actually shows a progression from 1.5 megapixel to 6 megapixel, and a lot of times, as you have proven in your shots, you don't have to have the "best" camera to get the "best" shots!

I remember a long time ago when my son was in 4H. We took a photography class and I had a Canon AOS system and he had a cheap $35 camera. We were at a Japanese garden taking shots of the lake, flowers and birds. I got some really good shots and Jeff was struggling with the camera. He took one shot of the lake and then another but the film had run out. He was around 11 at the time. When we went to get the film developed, the lady at the store said there was a problem with Jeff's last photo. I said I know he shot at the end of the roll and it probably over-exposed. She said "well no, that's not the problem...the picture came out but it is not a standard size...it is almost like a panoramic shot and it is beautiful!" I told her we were going to enter the shots in the local county fair that month and if she thought it was good to develop and print it. She did and it WAS beautiful! I don't even know how the camera took that shot. We entered our pictures in the amateur photography section of the fair and I got an honorable mention. Jeff got 1st place!!! He and I were both thrilled. A $35 camera shot won first place because the composition was stunning. Everyone wanted to know how he did it.

That is why I have shots from different cameras and different times of my life. I am even going to post some old poloroids I took of my son which truly show what a happy child (and he was always happy his short 25 years on Earth) looks like!

Thanks again Marie...

that is a most beautiful story patrick.
thank you.
it has to be read again.
Jeff must have been thrilled that day he got
1st prize with the picture.
and no one more surprised then you ( but him also)
a lot of photography is about 'seeing' the picture.
the' type' and expense of a camera is not always the most important thing. in certain situations anyway

I really look forward to seeing Jeffs photograph whenever you get a chance to post it
and I am most sorry he is no longer around to share all these beautiful pastimes with you and all the family

(but he knows ! )

best wishes
& take care

Thanks Marie. He was with me last night. We found the most perfect spot on top of a dune and nobody else was taking it even though there were people everywhere. I saw one of those yellow "caution" tape things wrapped around the dune when we got there but I didn't care. It was very close to the dune that I spread his ashes on (the first time he'd ever seen the ocean). When we left later last night, I kid you not, the tape was gone! I neve saw anyone remove it and maybe it wasn't even there but no one else took that premium spot but us. When we got home I barbequed RibEye steak, Jeff's favorite. It was the first 4th of July without him so it was hard but he made it very worth our while by giving us the choice seats to the best show I have ever seen...if you want to count all the beautiful "illegal" fireworks going off all around us!

I didn't know how long ago jeff had died.
it must have been very difficult coming up to the july 4th celebrations patrick
(and other occasions like it)
seems it was a lovely ending to the day for you and your family .
as lovely as could have been possible anyway.
a warmth and comfort sign from somewhere.
sounds like even happiness came from feeling jeff had been near for sure, which I am certain he was.

however or whatever helps us all to get through the next stage of moving on is all that matters
amazing how you were on that dune at all.

thanks.
I think you have a wonderful attitute coping with it all.

take care
with sincere best wishes

marie
